Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) Tuesday, March 30, 2010

As the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) is introduced into our communities, there is an opportunity in Colorado to weave issues related to affordable housing, the environment, labor and economic development together to forge a more collaborative response to some of our most vulnerable and at risk members of our community. Such a response is both necessary (the Metropolitan Denver Homeless Initiative estimated that there were over 10,000 homeless men, women and children in metropolitan Denver alone in 2007), and the smart thing to do. There is evidence that ending homelessness saves taxpayer money.
