Denver Street Outreach Collaborative (DSOC) Friday, April 2, 2010
The Denver Street Outreach Collaboration (DSOC) was funded by Denver Human Services in January 2006 as part of Goal Two in Denver’s Road Home, a strategic plan designed to end homelessness in the City & County of Denver. The DSOC includes 18 outreach professionals and the following collaborative organizations:
- Colorado Coalition for the Homeless
- Denver Human Services
- City and County of Denver
- Downtown Denver Partnership
- St. Francis Center
- Urban Peak
- Denver Police Department
Agencies provide street outreach and case management services Monday - Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., working directly on the streets with individuals who are homeless. Immediate access to services through outreach workers streamlines the process for individuals to access the necessary resources to help them exit street life. The Downtown Denver Partnership coordinates the Ambassador Program on the 16th Street Mall to assist visitors and business owners with information about Denver while the Denver Police Department provides police support to provide safety and resources for outreach workers and enforce city ordinances.
